Why Our Daycare

At Ohana Play School, the word Ohana holds deep meaning for us. In Hawaiian, Ohana means family—and to us, family is so much more than blood. Family is the community that surrounds you, supports you, and helps you thrive.

What Ohana means to Us

As foster and adoptive parents, as well as parents of stepchildren and biological children, we have experienced firsthand that family takes many forms. It is built through love, connection, and shared experiences. Family is your sense of belonging, your home, your safety, your place to grow and be yourself.

We celebrate a special day we call Ohana Day, the day we commemorate our child’s adoption and the moment our family became complete. It’s a reminder that family is found in the people who love and support you unconditionally, and that every connection has the power to change a life.
